We've had a lot of exciting development occurring over the last several weeks. Along with major progress in design, planning, and coding, we've also been getting ready to release more story and artwork to the community.
The following is a game-ready, 3000px world map (click to enlarge). I've labeled this particular map for the written storylines we'll be releasing in the near future. Generally speaking, these are locations that were active 40-60 years before the setting players will be introduced to upon creating an account, with the exception of Eventide and Twilight, which have been abandoned for centuries.
I'll be working on regional maps next. Over time, we'd like a play experience where a player can seamlessly zoom out to this world map and then back in on their location.

We've put together a pretty lengthy description of the core Evensfell gameplay. For those wondering what you'll be seeing, check out this thread!
Evensfell is a browser-based massively multiplayer game currently in development. Our goal is to create a living world where players will interact with each other in deep and interesting ways as they build cooperative cities and kingdoms, develop trade networks, explore the world, adventure, set sail, and go to war.
This project has been a personal goal for seven years. Since I created TankSpot in 2007 I have hoped that it would eventually allow for the development of this game. About one year ago we began working on the engine that would make such a world possible. And while TankSpot has helped us develop a stronger understanding of web gaming and communities, this project has simultaneously benefited TankSpot through the development of new CMS software and design.
We believe that over time we're going to develop one of the best and most unique browser-based game on the market. We would like your help over the coming years in testing and feedback both during development and after we've launched. Stay tuned!
Evensfell Media & Story
We're proud to release a collection of media at this point to help visitors get an idea of what is coming. Read the first chapter of The Firefly King to get an idea of the events of the Second Great Winter; check out our cartography in Maps of Evensfell; and download Desktop Artwork here.

Note: All positions have been filled. A big thank you to everyone who applied.
We are looking for at least one programmer and one web designer to add to the Evensfell development team! These are currently volunteer positions with the opportunity to become full-time paid positions when the game is launched.
We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and can complete projects in a timely manner without being micromanaged. Ideally we are seeking college-age adults with a great work ethic and a desire to break into the game industry. We would like applicants who may be able to relocate within the United States once the project is financially successful.
Evensfell is a next-generation browser-based MMO which makes heavy use of new web technologies such as Silverlight to create an immersive and ongoing experience for the player. If you are creative and can explain, propose, and implement your ideas into an AJAX or Silverlight platform you will find a receptive environment.
Teamwork and communication skills are a must! Applicants are expected to have a working microphone and be available for afternoon ventrilo meetings Monday-Friday.
Programmer applicants should have extensive knowledge and understanding of the following technologies:
